Carol Lee Lumbert, as lovely a lady on the inside as she was on the outside, loving mom, grandmother (gma), great grandmother, wife and friend, was welcomed through the gates of Heaven on Thursday May 26, 2022. She was born March 20, 1943 in Fort Knox Kentucky to the late Wallace and Marguerite Wagner. She moved from Renton, where she had lived most of her life, then to Tacoma and more recently to University Place.

Carol met the love of her life, Paul, through mutual friends and they were married on December 21, 1960. They built their dream home, where they lived for over 40 years and raised their four children in the beautiful community of Maple Hills, where Carol made many great friends, throughout the years.

As a homemaker, she volunteered her time to many of her children's activities, coaching her girl's softball team, volunteering in the classroom, Blue Bird/Brownie leader and baking her favorite bundt cakes for school bake sales. She raised her granddaughter, Crystal, babysat all of the other grandchildren and great grandchildren and also babysat many other kids along the way. She loved spending time with children and was great at connecting with them. She had a real passion and quite a green thumb for indoor and outdoor plants. She always had the best fuchsia baskets on the block! She loved to walk and since she didn't drive, she would walk long distances to get to places she wanted to go. This kept her in great shape and inspired her family to also take long walks. She would chat people up when she was out and about and really enjoyed getting to know people and tell them about herself. She was kind, caring, spunky and fun. Her beautiful smile, sparkly eyes and sharp sense of humor will be missed by many. Carol loved Jesus and had accepted the gift of salvation. Rejoice!

Carol had the pleasure of traveling to many states and countries with family and friends. One of her favorite trips was traveling to Ireland with family to visit family on her mother's side. Many trips were taken to the beach as well, some of her favorite places to go to were Cannon Beach, OR and Long Beach, WA.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband Paul, daughter Karen Lumbert and granddaughter Crystal Daily. She is survived by her daughter's Sandra Jorstad (Rick), Sheri Alastra, son Kurt Lumbert (Claire) and brother Roger Wagner (Judy). Grandchildren: Nikki, Carrie, Dana, Ryan and Rory and great grandchildren: Kaylee, Collin, Tatum and Ryder.

Like so many people, Carol went through times of difficult depression over the years. Mental illness can steal away our hope and joy. Never miss an opportunity to tell those you love, that you love and care about them. Please reach out for help if you are struggling, people care and want to help.
