Barbara Rae Wayno

Barbara Rae Wayno passed away peacefully in her home on 9/21/2026 at the age of 99 years old. She was born in Tacoma, Washington, on 1/20/1927 to Walter and Lola White.

She lived a full life in Tacoma with her husband, Claire Wayno, who predeceased her in 2019. Barbara had a career with Pacific Northwest Bell as a telephone operator and a dispatcher. She had many interests and enjoyed painting portraits, gardening, making ceramic dolls, and building Victorian dollhouses. In her retired life, she became an avid quilter. She donated many quilts and dolls to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Thomas Wayno (Deborah) and Suzanne Webster (Mark), and her four grandchildren, Jason Wayno, Aaron Wayno, Clint Webster, and Lisa Jones. She was always proud to say she was the great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren.

She truly enjoyed her family and friends and will be missed by all who loved her.

A brief graveside service will be held at New Tacoma Cemetery in University Place, Washington, on 9/30/26 at 10:30.
