Barbara Sue Morton, beloved sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep February 11, 2023, in Gig Harbor, Washington after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 21, 1953 in San Diego, California to Thomas and Suzanne Tobin.

Barb grew up in San Diego, CA and graduated from Point Loma High School while also becoming a SeaMaid at SeaWorld and swimming with the dolphins and whales.

After high school she moved to Tacoma, Washington where she attended the University of Puget Sound and gained her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. While there she met her husband Christopher Morton, who preceded her in death. Upon graduation they moved to Gig Harbor and started a family.

Barb is survived by her two brothers Mike (Laura) Tobin, Gary (Wendy) Tobin, her two sisters Stephanie and Stacy, her two sons Travis (Meghan) Morton, Eric (Erin) Morton, four grandchildren Michael & Connor, Tarkington & Wayland and her cherished niece and nephews. She loved being a mom and grandma and was really good at it! She created countless memories with her family who always stayed her number one priority throughout her life.

Barb loved her work, she spent nearly forty years as an Occupational Therapist in the Peninsula School District touching countless lives and families. If she wasn't working in her career or working in her yard she was with her family and friends. She also loved to travel and was able to see many places around the world. She will be remembered for her unconditional love, willingness to give, kindness, dedication, work ethic, friendship, colorfulness, strong will, and toughness. She is remembered by many as the strongest woman they ever knew - a true warrior.

The family is extremely grateful to her large network of friends who have supported, listened, laughed, and cried with her throughout her life as well as the doctors and nurses who helped prolong her life.

A Memorial Walk along the Gig Harbor waterfront will be held May 21, 2023 starting at the GHYC at 2pm followed by A Celebration of Life reception at the Gig Harbor Yacht Club from 3-5pm.
