In Loving Memory of Arnold Lee Couch
August 25, 1941 - February 27, 2024
Arnold Lee Couch, was born to Francis Margret Lee and Arnold Branson Couch on August 25, 1941, in Los Angeles, California. He peacefully departed from this world in his home in Lakewood, WA, on February 27, 2024.
His early years were shaped by the nurturing care of his foster mother, Muriel R. Gibens, a dedicated Seventh-Day Adventist. Arnold found solace and purpose in the teachings of the Adventist faith.
Arnold served in the Army for 23 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. A proud veteran, his tour of duty included a period in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. He soon found himself in Korea, where he met his first wife, Suk Hui Kim, having 4 daughters together.
After retiring from the military in Lakewood, WA, Arnold's professional experience led to a fulfilling career as a medical technologist, a role he embraced with passion until his retirement from St. Joseph & St. Francis in 2005.
Arnold's hobbies reflected his love for nostalgia, from classic cars and Cushman scooters to street cars and model trains. He was a devoted member of the South Tacoma Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Devine Grace Couch, his daughters, Patricia, Beverly, Barbara, and Bonnie, son-in-laws Jeff and Mike, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who brought joy and pride to his life.
He will be missed and his memory will continue to live in the hearts of many.
A Celebration of life will be held at the South Tacoma Seventh Day Adventist Church on March 24, 2024 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the church in Arnold's memory at https://adventistgiving.org/donate/ANIMJV
