Obituary

Andrew Michael Smith came into this world on June 7th, 1992. From an early age, Drew was a dynamo of energy that could barely be contained. Running around inside and outside barefoot, he was up a tree and jumping off a fence before you realized he was even out the door. Many an hour was spent climbing trees, riding bikes, and jumping on trampolines. He was a physical soul, that expressed his love of life through exercise and sports. Whether it was flag football, track and field, karate, weightlifting, or gymnastics, Drew loved to compete and push his limits. Nowhere was this more apparent than his basketball skills. Starting in elementary school and working his way up to high school basketball, Drew loved playing pickup ball, AAU, and for his schools' teams. His happy go lucky nature and boisterous attitude was one of jovial mischief, making sure everyone had a good time and a smile on their face.

All his energy and good nature brightened everyone's day around him, and he applied himself well in the worlds of fitness and service. Whether he was waiting tables, coaching gymnastics and basketball, or showing you how to do a deadlift, Drew had charm and empathy few could match. His care and empathy were at their zenith when around his two children, Noah and Mila. Drew desperately wanted to be a loving, caring, and patient father that his kids could look up to.

Andrew Smith led a life of challenges, struggling with ADHD, maternal cancer diagnoses, the early passing of his father, and significant health complications. Through it all, he had a smile and swagger that covered the deep pain that was his burden. He was a person who seemed so strong, so resilient, that he could shrug off anything. His passing on July 7th, 2024, is a shock that will scar family, friends, and anyone who encountered or interacted with him for the remainder of our days. Let's all remember his passion for life, living it at the bleeding edge, and bringing a little joy to all of those around us. Rest in peace you magnificent trickster, you are loved, you are mourned, and the hole you have left will never be filled.
