Andrew Stewart Barton, age 22, of Lakewood WA died May 20, 2022.

Andrew was born in Lakewood WA on March 14, 2000. He graduated from Lakes High School in Lakewood and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Portland 2022. He was trained as an EMT at Unitek and was licensed in Washington and Oregon.

Andrew worked as an EMT for Metro West in Portland. He was an Eagle Scout with bronze and gold palms awards and an elected member of the Order of the Arrow, a BSA honor society. He was a first-aid instructor and Assistant Scoutmaster for BSA Troop 71. He loved the outdoors including hiking, camping and especially building campfires. He was a fly fisherman, kayaker, YMCA lifeguard, bladesmith, kickboxing instructor, and captain of the West Sound Warriors ice hockey team. Andrew loved learning and talking about most subjects, playing board and video games, cooking, and spending time with family. He saved his grandmother's life, forged and welded a metal gate for a Lakewood Community Garden, and at the young age of 14 summited Mount Rainier with his brother and dad. Andrew was affable, kind, inspiring and happy, always bringing his joy and enthusiasm to the world and always eagerly helping those around him.

He is survived by his mother Cynthia (Cindi) Barton, father Gary Barton, brother Phillip Barton, and Grandmother Rita Wood.

A memorial service with an open mike for those wanting to speak about Andrew, will be held on Saturday, June 4 at Steilacoom Community Church (1603 Rainier Street, Steilacoom, WA) at 10:30 AM, with reception from noon to 2:00 PM at the church, and graveside service at New Tacoma Cemetery (9221 Chambers Creek Road W, University Place, WA) at 3:00 PM.
