Alice

A spirited Life of Culture, Curiosity and Joy

Born on June 11, 1932 in Sykeston, North Dakota. Alice grew up with strong roots and a curious heart. She moved to Tacoma, Washington as a child and settled in the area in 1938 where she would spend much of her long and lively life. Alice attended high school at Clover Park Technical College, and went onto pursue careers that showcased both her precision and her creativity. She worked as a dental hygienist and also shared her love of music as a piano teacher; roles that reflected her caring nature in love of lifelong learning.

She retired in 1994, but never slowed down in spirit.  An adventurer at heart, Alice has traveled to Panama, Germany and across most of the western United States. She especially loved sightseeing at the Grand Canyon and Disneyland, finding joy in both the natural wonders and magical places the world has to offer. Alice is known for her many interest from walking and reading to dancing to home brewing her own wine. She had a special fondness for reading in German and Russian embracing her heritage and love language. Her musical spirit shines when she dances the tunes of 1950s and 60s, a joyful nod to the era she holds dear. She shared her life with her beloved pets over the years, three dogs; Kaga, Bear and Tiger Lily and two cats, Fuzz and Tripod.

Her home was always filled with companionship and a touch of playfulness. Proud of her cultural roots, Alice is an active member of the Germans for Russia Heritage Society, honoring the traditions and stories that shaped her family's past. She loves learning, exploring and staying connected to the world around her, though she'd be the first to tell you that she has no patience for broccoli!!

With nearly a century of memories, laughter, meaningful moments behind her, Alice continues to embody the spirit of joy, culture, and resilience. Her life is a beautiful reminder, that curiosity, kindness, and a little dancing, go along way.
