Alice Broome

Alice Ann Thompson Broome, 86, of DuPont, WA, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at The Rivers at Puyallup in Puyallup, WA, after a prolonged illness. Alice was born February 12, 1939, in York County, SC, and was the daughter of Essie Rippy Thompson and Grady Thompson. She was the widow of US Air Force veteran Bill Broome, whom she had been married for 55 years.

Alice was a loving wife and mother and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and celebrating many special occasions with her family.

Alice is survived by her five children, Marc Broome (Konstantina) of Framingham, MA, Terry Broome of Chapin, SC, Donna Kleim (Peter) of Annapolis, MD, Bill Broome of DuPont, WA, and John Broome (Michelle) of Tacoma, WA. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Caroline Ingraham (Chris) of Salt Lake City, UT, Austin Broome of Wayland, MA, Emil Adolphs (Lizzie) of Leverett, MA, Oceana Broome of Framingham, MA and Tristan Kleim of Denver, CO. Also left behind were great-grandchildren Mayer Ingraham and Naomi Ingraham. Alice is also survived by her brothers, Jack Thompson (Sue) of Clover, SC, and Jimmy Thompson (Gwen) of Smyrna, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brothers Carl Thompson and Jerry Thompson.

A funeral service was held at the Tahoma National Cemetery on Thursday, June 26, in Kent, WA where she was interred next to her husband Bill.
